In the words of my 2 year old brother. "Shut Up."

No seriously.

This stems from my current irriatation with religion. I feel the need to say that we all need to get over it. I've read the DiVinci Code. I loved it. It's a good book. I've also read considerable amounts of the bible. I plan on reading all of it someday but well, it's really long and lets face it some of it is really boring. However, it is a good book as well. What irks me is that people seem to put so much stock into all of this.

Religion is what we believe. Faith is accepting what we cannot prove. You choose to believe what you do and you choosed to accept and believe in things that you cannot prove. However, no where in either book does it say to go and tell everyone what you think and tell others that they are wrong/sinners/going to hell/blah blah blah. You just have to accept that you can't make people think what you do. You also can't prove/disprove certain things right now. Maybe in the future we will be able to shed more light on this stuff.

I also don't want to hear anymore about 'The Passion of Christ". I haven't seen it. I'm squimish and I don't want to cry/vomit. We all know what happens though. Just yesterday my mom, my best friend, and I ran into a guy we hadn't seen in a while (I come from a small town where you know everyone in town). We ended up talking about movies and you can guess where that led. He starting talking about "the passion" and I started to get annoyed. He comes from a crazy christian family (No, offense to normal, non-crazy christians) and I was seriously waiting for the crazy religious views to come out. No offense to this guy either, he's a nice guy really. He was just brought up with crazies. Happily we left before they did. My mom also told me that at the last family get together (lucky for them I wasn't there) one of my Aunts was talking about all the things that are wrong in the DiVinci Code and then all this stuff about the bible and what you should and shouldn't do blah blah. Who is she to say that something is wrong?

I guess my final point is that it is fine to discuss religion and to do your research. Don't accept shit you cannot prove as a fact though. Just because something is in a book (The bible/Divinci Code) does not make it real. If you want to believe in it then go right on ahead just realize that others might not want to join you. Also, this is not worth it. We each have our own path. Follow yours and leave me to follow mine and we can all play nice.
